Pastel Floral Dreams | Hitched in the '66 Desert Elopement

Holly & Kade were one of the first couples who booked out our 1966 Mustang when we first got it - but they booked us for a year out... so we had lots of time to plan and wait, and wait, and wait for the amazing day! If you are a couple who might be interested in booking a Hitched in the '66 Elopement Package, here's what you need to know. Our packages all come with the car rental for photos, professional photography, bouquet, champagne and donuts, and your officiant. There are a few location permits that are included in the package, such as the dry lake bed. And then there are add-ons like more time, chairs, floral installations, arches, cake, videography, super 8mm, 35mm film, polaroids, and more!

Holly wanted a floral dream where the flowers used in the ceremony could be moved to the car for some photos afterwards. Building out a floral arch would have made that tricky, but using the individual pieces was the perfect solution, and the ceremony set up was pretty perfect for her dress, she looks like a greek goddess! The day consisted of the beautiful ceremony at the dry lake bed, followed by some family and friends photos, champagne and donuts, and then photos of Holly & Kade at sunset and into the blue hour. We listened to amazing music the entire time, had the most perfect weather, and just had fun!

The thing about Vegas is that the weather can be pretty unpredictable, you can have wind storms (which are not fun at the dry lake bed), heat spells of 115+ degrees, monsoons, and even the occasional snow flurries (which is mostly just really cold and windy). And all those different weather patterns we have seen all throughout the year. So it's hard to pick the perfect day and guarantee perfect weather for your outdoor elopement, but if you could Holly & Kade did!

Desert Elopement outside of Las Vegas on Film

Desert Elopement Film on Super 8mm

Poppy & Martin travelled all the way from the UK to elope in the desert outside of Las Vegas. We picked them up on the strip before heading out the dry lake bed for a sunset ceremony & golden hour photos. They wanted their entire wedding shot on film, so we captured their video on super8mm and their photos on 35mm. It was such a windy day but we lucked out we didn't get a crazy dust storm! After their ceremony, we headed back to the hotel room where they changed and cut the cutest little heart shaped wedding cake. After that we headed to downtown Las Vegas for some more photos and drinks under the neon lights of Fremont! It was a truly magic day!

Their elopement photos were shot on 35mm film, it was just amazing to get to capture their entire wedding day on film. Something so nostalgic and timeless about it!

Summer Elopement at The Little White Wedding Chapel

Danika & Jared booked some last minute flights to tie the knot in Vegas after realizing that planning a wedding was ruining the idea of getting married. Like most of our couples, they really just wanted to enjoy the moment, and get to spend the day with each other. We were excited we had the day available so we got to capture the day for them!

We met up at the Little white wedding chapel on Las Vegas BLVD where they had their closest friend and family witness their ceremony. Nothing beats Elvis' iconic pink Cadillac, the Kitschy chapel, and the buzz of summertime elopements in Las Vegas.

After the ceremony we headed downtown to capture some more photos around sunset. Our favorite elopement "timeline" for the quickie 2 hour elopement is to meet at the chapel about 2 hours before sunset. Then we can have about an hour at the chapel for the ceremony and any other photos around before heading to another spot for golden hour. Then you get the best of both worlds, and finish up your session right as the sun sets before heading out to celebrate the night away! And when it comes to summer elopements in Las Vegas, it's so hot out that any more than 2 hours just gets to be too much for everyone.

Although elopements are traditionally last minute, since Vegas is the elopement capital of the world, we find people booking us 1-2 years in advance for their "elopement", especially for our international couples who can't just book a last minute trip all the way across the world. So the months of March, April, May, September and October get booked up far in advance. But when it comes to the summer, we find to have more openings to the last minute elopements like this! So if you aren't really a planner, the best time to elope might just be summer if you want a weekend date - but if you are keen for a Tuesday wedding (or any weekday date), then you can have your pick of the litter any time of the year :)
