Rainy Desert elopement \ Desi & Jonah

Desi & Jonah got married at City Hall in Denver, Colorado, but for their honeymoon they roadtripped all the way from Denver to California and back. After making a few stops along the way to ski and hike in National Parks, they stopped off in Vegas to grab a shower and take some amazing wedding photos in the desert. They were only here for one day, so rain or shine we were going to make it happen and get them some amazing elopement photos in the desert!

It had been cloudy all day and started to rain and was only going to get worse, so we went out a little early to hopefully beat the worst of the storm, and made our first stop at the dry lake bed. As an elopement photographer, the dry lake bed never disappoints. And with the light rain and the big storm rolling in on the horizon, it make for an absolutely insane experience. I mean it's not all the time that we get rain in the desert, and since it wasn't pouring, it was totally doable. Once we got out of the car, the rain was sprinkling, but it stopped for a good 30 minutes and gave us some great photo time. And of course I got to pull out my cute clear umbrella for some fun rainy day photos!

After spending some time out at the dry lake bed and playing with some fun smoke bomb photos, we headed to the ever classic and instagrammable 7 magic mountains. It's always a good time to get to bring people here for some photos! While I was hopeful that the rain would mean we would have the place to ourselves, unfortunately it was probably the most crazy we have seen it in a while. But that didn't stop us from having some fun and getting some incredible pictures. I whipped out the tilt shit 50mm for some fun effects which I thought was very fun for this location!

Once the rain started picking back up and Desi and Jonah were both getting pretty cold, we headed downtown to finish up with some fun Vegas pictures under the neon lights. I always love getting a few photos under the lights to document the city.

And lastly, let's just all take a moment to admire Desi's bridal jumpsuit. She looked smoking hot in it, and it was so much fun!

Rock & Roll Downtown Las Vegas Elopement

Paulina & Kenneth reached out to us for their Vegas elopement the week before they headed out from LA to tie the knot. That is the beauty of Las Vegas weddings, some are planned for nearly two years, and others barely two days. We love it when we are available and get to just run around our favorite city with an awesome couple like Paulina and Kenneth to make them some memories of such a special day.

We started at the iconic Little White Wedding Chapel for their ceremony and some photos before heading around downtown to capture some fun photos in front of the mural walls and neon lights. It seems like everything on the strip or downtown would be very close, but in reality some things can be over 3o minutes away (because of traffic). So the Las Vegas sign and the little white wedding chapel can be pretty far away if there is any traffic, so sometimes when we want to stay downtown and not drive all over town we love to get photos in front of the of this epic Las Vegas mural by Greetings Tour to document their time in the city, kind of like a fun postcard! Then we headed down onto Fremont street to capture some epic shots under the neon lights. Then Paulina & Kenneth headed off to an intimate dinner at a fancy steakhouse and we went home and couldn't wait to start editing! Sometimes our weddings are full 12 hour days, and other times it's quick 2 hours and we love each and every one of the weddings that we get to be part of no matter what they may look like!

Glam & Vintage Desert Engagement Photos

Madison & Ricky planned their epic Vegas elopement - but with us being here in Las Vegas and them being based in LA, we didn't have the chance to do some engagement photos before their wedding (well months before haha). So when they came our a few days early, we headed out to the desert to get in some fun engagement photos that totally fit their Wild Vegas elopement vibes perfectly!

Maddy wore the most epic sequin dress and looked like a total freaking babe while Ricky looked incredible slick in his pink suit, which also tied in perfectly with their pink wedding theme (more on that to come!)

We obviously wanted to bring out the mustang for their shoot, and I am so glad we did because it was fun, so glam, with the perfect touch of vintage. I mean no matter how modern and chic your wedding style may be, if you are getting married at the Little White Wedding Chapel in Downtown Las Vegas, then your wedding has a touch of vintage Vegas no matter what! We loved every moment of this shoot, but especially loved getting to hang out with Maddy and Ricky before their big day and get to know them. It's so much more fun going to a wedding where you have gotten to know the couple a little before showing up!

So besides showing you some amazing photos to inspire your engagement shoot in the desert - this is also to say that even though you are eloping, it doesn't mean you can't get some awesome engagement photos! Or if you didn't get any, it's still not too late to do them just 2 days before your wedding! Trust us, you will never regret an awesome photoshoot in the desert with your boo!
