Emma & Brian got married over zoom in the thick of the pandemic, and after 11 years together, they really wanted to throw a wild party to celebrate their love (and their 2 years of marriage). Las Vegas was the obvious choice to get together their best friends, throw on some glamorous outfits and hit the town. The only thing hotter than their looks was the actual weather (being that it was the middle of July in Vegas). But the heat didn't stop anyone from having a good time! Check out their wedding film below!

Emma & Brian not only hired us to capture the day, but help them plan it from locations, timing, menus and transportation. It really helps get the best photos & video when we get to help plan out the day and time everything to be perfect for lighting and flow purposes. There is nothing we understand more than how important the day is to flow so that the bride and groom get to actually have fun and get to enjoy their guests while ALSO getting the photos & video that they dream of!

We started our day with some photos downtown, which never disappoints. The lights, the colors, Vegas really puts on a show and makes for the best wedding photo backdrop! Then we met up with all their guests at the Sure Thing chapel for a ceremony... and a surprise! If there is one thing that screams VEGAS WEDDING... it's a showgirl burlesque show! If you want to wow your 21+ vegas wedding party, this is definitely the way to go! Afterwards we headed over to Peyote, a fun and colorful south american fusion resutaurant located in the Fergusons downtown. They had the entire patio booked out which made for a really special and intimate experience, with amazing family style food, endless craft cocktails and great atmosphere. Afterwards, Emma & Brian headed out to party the night away!

BRAZEN HONEY

Being a wedding photographer means you get to meet a lot of different people, but being a wedding photographer in Las Vegas means you get to meet couples from all over the world. Jodie & Craig travelled all the way from Scotland to get married in Las Vegas, and we were lucky enough to get to be their friends, witnesses and photographers that day! Below is their video - which was just so much fun to get to capture and edit together for them!

Their day started in their hotel room, as most do... but with a twist! First looks are always so funny when the couple is eloping and staying in the room together because while Jodie was getting her hair and makeup done, Craig was banished to the bathroom. We showed up, set up a little studio with a backdrop in their hotel room, and got to work. We only had a few minutes to capture what we needed because hair and makeup was an hour behind... another reason to book that early because HMU is always the #1 reason weddings run behind.

After that we headed to the chapel for an intimate ceremony at the Sure Thing Chapel. For those who haven't heard, there is a new chapel on the block. We've been getting to capture elopements there for about 2 years now and it's definitely for those couples who want something really special and intimate. It's cute, kitschy, pink, and actually runs on schedule LOL.

After that, we headed out to eat all together. We don't often get to hang out with our couples, but since Jodie had booked the chapel for earlier in the day, we definitely had some time to kill before golden hour, so we had suggested we take a little break and get a quick bite to eat. It was so much fun to get to celebrate with them and enjoy the amazing food at Carson Kitchen in Downtown Las Vegas!

After that, we headed back out for some amazing golden hour portraits, featuring our favorite rooftop parking garage that makes it look like the entire Vegas skyline has been lit up gold! Nothing quite it, being above the noise of the city, with the entire place to ourselves and perfect weather. Truly a Vegas treat!

XOXO,

BRAZEN HONEY

Brandon and Ally are the two sweetest souls and we were so excited to get to spend the day with them and capture their secret elopement in Las Vegas this summer. We opted for sunrise since the summers here in Vegas get way too hot, and finished up around 10 am before they headed to hang by the pool to celebrate. And that honestly has to be one of my favorite part of Vegas elopements, you can do literally anything you want, celebrate how you want, and make the entire day about you and your love!

Check out their video below, which was a beautiful mix of both digital and super 8mm video!

The morning began in the desert for a special first look at sunrise. It was hilarious how Brandon drove with Ally in the backseat and a sheet up between the front and the back so he wouldn't see her. First looks are special, but they also have a very comical side when you are trying to figure out how to make it happen while also not seeing each other. That's why we tell everyone to relax, and just have fun with it. At the end of the day, the first look is one minute out of your entire day, so getting all worked up trying to make it perfect is not worth your time. Our advice on having the perfect look is just remembering it's about the experience, the build up, the excitement, NOT acting or pretending, but just being present in this beautiful moment!

After that we haded downtown for some donuts and pictures before heading to the chapel. They were the first wedding that morning, so it actually works out in our favor because we get the place all to ourselves for photo & video! Nothing quite like Elvis at 9am on a Monday :) Weekday elopements are really the best because you get the best ceremony times, photo spots all to yourselves, and basically the chapel all to yourselves!

We shot their wedding photos on a mix of digital, 35mm and polaroids. If you are wanting to really have a retro vegas wedding, there is nothing more retro than having it shot on real film, for that true nostalgic feeling. It really does feel like your parents or your grandparents wedding photos. Timeless, cinematic, and real. This blog features all the film photographs of their very fun Vegas elopement. Their ceremony was at the iconic Little White Wedding chapel in the tunnel of love, featuring our 1966 convertible mustang, Lucille!
